El piloto del helicóptero que se estrelló en un edificio de oficinas en Nueva York murió, así lo confirmó el Departamento de Bomberos.

A través de su cuenta de Twitter, al actualizar la información sobre el percance en el número 787 de la Séptima Avenida, el escuadrón de bomberos señaló además que el incendio que se registró posterior al choque se derivó por la fuga de combustible en la aeronave, mismo que ya fue sofocado.
#FDNY confirms a helicopter has crash-landed onto the roof of 787 7th Ave in Manhattan. The fire has been extinguished, and members continue to operate in response to fuel leaking from the helicopter. There is currently one fatality reported.

Previamente el Departamento de Bomberos de Nueva York indicó que el accidente se debió a que el helicóptero aterrizó con fuerza en el techo del edificio.
Por su parte Andrew Coumo, gobernador de Nueva York, refirió en entrevista con medios locales que no se tienen reportes oficiales de personas lesionadas dentro del edificio ubicado en la Séptima Avenida.
